Whether you have undergone a mastectomy or a lumpectomy, and whether or not you have chosen reconstruction, one of your next decisions involves the selection of an external breast form and post-surgical bras. Western Reserve offers many styles and a large selection to choose from.
Following Mastectomy
Breast forms are designed to look and feel like the natural breast. They are worn outside the body in a close-fitting, supportive bra, or in a special bra with a pocket to hold the form. In addition to creating a symmetrical appearance, the form will also create weight to restore your body's natural balance.
Following Lumpectomy
Depending on the amount of tissue removed, the size of your breasts and your lifestyle, it may become necessary to wear a breast form. Partial shells and forms are available to fill in where tissue has been removed.
Following Reconstruction
Occasionally after breast reconstruction, there may still be a noticeable difference between the remaining breast and the reconstructed breast. If this is the case, you can be fitted with a partial form to create a symmetrical silhouette.
An Active Lifestyle
Depending on how active you are, you may require special forms and bras suitable for exercise, swimming, and other activities.
